Leather Bag Workshop
Leather Bag Workshop
Learn how to make a simple and rustic leather haversack or duffle bag during this one day workshop. These hardy kit carriers are perfect for holding all your essential items and slinging over a shoulder for a walk or day out in the woods.
Tough and flexible grain on leather is provided (please state a colour preference) as well as patterns and any tools you’ll need to get the job done. Leather thonging is used for stitching. Quickly done and extremely effective it’ll give your bag a touch of primitive chic.
If you’ve made buckskin during a previous workshop but haven’t yet decided what to make from it, bring it along! Free counselling and encouragement is available for anyone too nervous to cut into their precious first tanned hide.
Please expect to be constantly busy on our craft workshops. To get as much as possible from your experience, please arrive fully prepared to work hard between the advertised start and finish times. Traditional crafts ask a lot from your hands, muscles and mind but the long term gain will be worth it!
The working day will begin at 9am and we'll down tools at 5pm (although please be prepared to stay on a little longer if needed)
All tools, materials and hot drinks are provided however, please bring your own lunch and snacks.
This workshop can be booked as private training for groups of two or more people. Please get in touch to choose your own date
